As a leading cloud computing company, we're justifiably proud of our Green credentials.
By providing software as a service, we automatically update our data without undertaking the environmentally-damaging practice of posting CDs to each of our 8,000 customers every time the updates are applied.
As we provide daily PAF® updates this prevents over 2,500,000 CD shipments annually; saving both the huge cost and the effort of manually installing updates. It also significantly reduces our impact on the environment. We operate a "Green" policy in the office, recycling as much waste as we can (the thousands of teabags that we consume help to feed the compost heap) and encouraging staff to cycle to our rural office through a cycle to work scheme. Nearly 25% of the staff have taken advantage of this to date. We also encourage car sharing.
In addition, we also promote good environmental practice through our own technology. Our route optimisation service saves 20% - 40% in fuel costs for the companies that use it. We have also recently introduced a composite application which uses two of our web services to measure the CO2 emissions for a given journey for your chosen car make and model.

WWF and ITV's "Extinct" campaign
At Postcode Anywhere we pride ourselves in doing our bit for good causes, whether this is locally by supporting children with special needs or helping major charities by providing our services free or at a subsidised rate.
We're also strongly committed to doing our ethical bit and environmental conservation ranks high on our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) agenda.
At Christmas 2006 we were pleased to help the WWF (Worldwide Fund for Nature) by providing Postcode Anywhere address auto-fill free to help them collect the donations they received as a result of ITV's "Extinct" programme.
Extinct was a week long series about the threats faced by eight endangered species and the conservation efforts that WWF and its partners were making to help them.
Helping to calculate our carbon footprint
We're also pleased to be making sure the WWF capture accurate address data from their ongoing campaign One Plant Living Footprint Calculator.
WWF's footprint calculator is an online tool to help people measure and decrease their impact on the planet.
Visitors to http://www.wwf.org.uk/calculator can take an eco-test that involves answering a series of lifestyle quiz questions. On completing their responses the participant is then provided with a series of steps devised to help them reduce their personal footprint.
The campaign has been well supported by celebrities including Melanie C of Spice Girls fame and Terry Waite CBE, who's an Ambassador for WWF-UK.
