The ITN Layer data plots the position of every single road in England, Scotland and Wales with unparalleled accuracy, along with extensive attribution like type of road, one-way streets, prohibited turns and so on. Using this data, we have created a smart algorithm that will compute the shortest route along the road network from one location to another.

About the data
The OS MasterMap® Integrated Transport Network (ITN) Layer is the definitive national road network for Great Britain, covering England, Scotland and Wales (not Northern Ireland).
Ordnance Survey aim to get any topography changes into the ITN data within 6 months of the real-world change. Our own servers are automatically updated with the latest data, meaning you don't have to remember to apply cumbersome data updates yourself.
Routes created from the ITN data line up perfectly with the rest of the OS MasterMap data making it a perfect partner for any MasterMap mapping applications you already have.
Licensing the data
In order to use our services you need to have a licence with Ordnance Survey to be able to use these services. Most government agencies and utility companies are already licensed, but if you are unsure whether you qualify, or if you would like to purchase a licence, please contact us.
