Advanced find

If you find the quick search box on the main form too restrictive the advanced search form lets you explicitly separate each element of the address to search on. To open the advanced search form click on the binoculars button or choose Advanced Find from the Edit menu.

The advanced search window

This is the window to use if you need to search on anything that the single text box doesn't permit, or if you like having lots of boxes to type into. You can use any combination of organisation, building, street, town and PO Box number to find an address.

Alternatively you can enter a full postcode or an outcode (the first part of the postcode) to search for an address. If you search by outcode we've saved you the hassle of having to look through a list of thousands of addresses by grouping them into localities and streets for you to "drill down" into.

Filtering

Tired of scrolling through a huge list of addresses to find the one that you're looking for? Why not filter your search results to get to that one address?

After a search, type any part of the address that you are searching for into the filter box to... well... filter the results. For example, if you are looking for Postcode Anywhere (to post a cheque to us for example!) you may type Postcode or Enigma and the results list will be filtered as you type.

Filtered search results

Of course you can also type a building number and the list will be filtered by any address containing that number. So, typing "4" may leave you with buildings 24, 34, 40, 42, 44, etc. as well as the company Group 4.

In addition to the text filter there are 2 type filter buttons. These will let you show either all organisations or all residential properties in the results list.

Filtering by all residential addresses only

Browsing

The final advanced search option is the Browse button. This lets you browse all addresses in the UK by postcode area (the letter(s) in the outcode), then location, then street. This is useful if you want to know where a particular postcode area relates to, or if you have absolutely no idea of what you are looking for.
