The Postcode Anywhere Windows Client integrates Postcode Anywhere services direct into any Windows application. It's fast and easy to set up, even for novice users, but is powerful enough to meet the needs of the most demanding.

Like other Postcode Anywhere products, the Windows Client is free - you just need to make sure you have enough credit or sufficient licences on your account to consume the services.

How does it work?

Getting started with the Windows Client is just a quick click away - simply download and install the application and enter a key to get started with it. If you don't already have a key, you can create one in the Windows Client or in the account section on the website.

Once installed, the Postcode Anywhere Web Client quietly waits in the background for you to activate it in an application. You can activate it by entering a postcode then pressing the ? key or just pressing Ctrl+Y.

If Postcode Anywhere hasn't been used in that application before, you'll be prompted to set it up. Normally the search window will open, and if you've triggered it with a postcode, list all the matching properties.

Just select the address you want to use and Postcode Anywhere will seamlessly enter the address into your application and close so you're ready to move on.

Setting up the Windows Client

If you enter a postcode into a new application, Postcode Anywhere will prompt you to create a new rule. Rules describe how the address should be entered in the application and are easy to set up and edit.

Better still, when you create rules, you can make them personal (just for you) or public (for anyone on your account). If you create a public rule, that rule is instantly sent to all the other Windows Clients on your network so your colleagues can start using it as well!

Shared rules can only be edited by you so they are great for tech support teams to push out instant settings across the network. For advanced users, there's a sophisticated policy-based restriction system to limit whether users can create or edit rules, and which menus are available to them.
